ABOUT IRATA'S ROPE ACCESS TRAINING

THREE-COURSE FOR TECHNICIANS WORKING AT HEIGHT

When malfunctions occur or maintenance needs to be done in hard-to-reach locations where agility and minimal environmental impact is crucial, rope access methods offer the ideal solution. Commonly used in high-risk environments like offshore rigs, wind turbines, and electrical infrastructures, these techniques provide a safe and efficient way to handle maintenance, inspections, and repairs at heights or in restricted areas.

The advantage of rope access is the speed and safety with which problems can be addressed. However, it requires rigorous training and safety education. The Industrial Rope Access Trade Association (IRATA) International offers a three-level course for technicians working at heights, both offshore and onshore, to support companies with challenging maintenance needs.

WHO IS THE ROPE ACCESS COURSE FOR?

ENSURING SAFETY AT HEIGHTS

Obtaining IRATA Rope Access certifications is essential for ensuring the safety of technicians who are suspended in ropes while working at heights. The training imparts the necessary skills and knowledge to mitigate risks, reducing the likelihood of accidents and injuries.

COURSE STRUCTURE & DURATION

THREE-LEVEL SYSTEM

The rope access training consists of a three-level course system. All levels account for different core capabilities a person should possess before engaging in operations with rope access practices. Read about the different levels, requirements and the learning objectives of the stages down below.

CERTIFICATION & VIABILITY

PREREQUISITES AND VALIDITY AFTER COMPLETION

Each certification level builds on the previous one, enabling technicians to develop more advanced skills and techniques. IRATA certifications offer a standardized framework for training and assessing rope access technicians, giving employers confidence in their competence, and contributing to overall industry quality assurance. The certification is valid for three years, and technicians and supervisors need to complete a reassessment
